Open Door is a non-profit that provides comprehensive education, rehabilitation, social, and therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and adults with cerebral palsy and other severe disabilities.

Kaizen Foundation’s support covered one of Cerebral Palsy/Open Door’s most important and immediate needs: the safe transportation for all the people with cerebral palsy who participate in their programs and services. Thanks to Kaizen Foundation’s contribution, the organization was able to purchase a new bus, which ensures daily access to Open Door for children and adults from all over the Attica Region. For the daily, unhindered participation of those attending the programs at the Open Door Centre, the opportunity for them to be transferred from and to their homes plays an important role.

People with physical disabilities still face many difficulties related to their transport (accessibility and safety issues), which often constitute a limiting factor for their participation in even the simplest daily activities. The Open Door Centre provides daily free transportation to all beneficiaries. The buses are especially designed to transport people with physical disabilities, equipped with special seats, tiebacks, bands, belts and lifts for wheelchair users.
