Let’s start with the role

We are looking for a  Communications & Programs Officer to shape and drive the Foundation’s communications strategy across geographies while actively contributing to the Foundation’s programmatic work. 

Based in Athens, Greece, you will play an active role in developing and implementing the Foundation’s communication approach in collaboration with the Foundation team and external partners (agencies, foundations and civil society organizations). You will also oversee all communication assets (website, social media, materials) and collaborate with external agencies to build a strong, strategic communication approach that enhances the Foundation’s visibility and impact.

In parallel, you will contribute to the programmatic and operational side of the Foundation’s work, supporting the monitoring and evaluation of ongoing projects, the coordination of partners, and the translation of program outcomes into clear, engaging narratives ensuring respectful and ethical representation of communities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional with a strong background in communications and civil society/philanthropy who is comfortable operating at both a strategic and executional level in a fast-paced, international social impact environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Kaizen Foundation’s communication strategy across all countries of interest in collaboration with the Kaizen Foundation team and its external partners where necessary (e.g. agencies, foundations and civil society organizations).
  • Act as the main point of contact for partner organisations globally, ensuring alignment and consistency in both communication and programmatic deliverables
  • Develop and execute communication plans for external and internal use, working closely with cross – functional teams to align messaging and communication channels.
  • Oversee and continuously update all communication channels and materials, including website, social media, and key assets.
  • Manage and coordinate external agencies (PR, content, creative) to deliver high-quality communication outputs.

What We Are Looking For

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in social sciences, public policy, education, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in program management, grantmaking, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in developing and managing impactful programs.
  • Experience with monitoring, evaluation, and data-driven decision-making.

Skills & Attributes

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field (Communications, Marketing, Social Sciences, etc.)
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within NGOs, foundations, social impact organisations, consulting, or similar environments.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing communication strategies and managing multi-channel communication outputs.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in Greek and English. Knowledge of Spanish and Portuguese is an advantage
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in complex workflows
  • Proactive, reliable, and detail-oriented with strong execution capabilities
  • Strong team spirit, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset, with experience working in cross-functional and international teams.
  • Genuine interest in the social impact sector and the ability to translate complex programmatic work into clear, accessible narratives.
  • [PREFERRED] Experience in philanthropy, grantmaking or large-scale social impact programs
  • [PREFERRED] Experience in program coordination, monitoring, or working closely with program teams in an operational capacity
  • [PREFERRED] Experience working with external agencies and multiple partners globally
  • [PREFERRED] Experience working in intercultural and international contexts
  • [PREFERRED] Understanding of programmatic monitoring and evaluation frameworks
